I've been having a great time playing around with the glorified sock puppet pattern from project puppet. Working on my second which is an all black long fur model. I was just wondering how many others there are out there making puppets.
What tips do you have for making eyes? I used a ping pong ball cut in two for the first which looked nice... the second I used styrofoam balls (not as good). I am a muppet. The hand hurts.

Ping pong balls are a great option for eyes. I used to do the ping pong cut in two, then marker for the pupils, but I've since upgraded to two-coats of paint over the ping pong balls (gives it a crazy-nice feel), and generally speaking plastic eyes over top of, or cut into, the ping pong half-ball.
If you get doll eyes, and cut a hole in the ping pong ball for them, that can look fantastic, as well. When you get your second sock puppet pattern puppet done, post a link: I'd love to see it! I'm the creator of dotBoom.
